Editing for Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD Theses

Bachelor’s thesis and undergraduate dissertation. Often your first independent research project. Editing focuses on a clear research question, a logical structure and correct citation – the points where first theses most often lose marks.

What is the difference between editing and proofreading?

Proofreading corrects only language, spelling, grammar and formatting – the content stays unchanged. Academic editing also checks the content: the logic of the argument, the common thread, the method and the academic style.

Is it allowed to have my thesis edited?

Editing is permitted at most universities, because your thesis remains your own intellectual work: we provide corrections, comments and suggestions, not new content. Check your university’s regulations, and declare the editing where this is required.

Where is the line between editing and writing?

When we edit, we work only on the text you have already written: we correct, comment and suggest improvements. Writing would mean creating new content. Within our editing service, your thesis remains your own work throughout.
